Grow Your Company
The world does not stand still, so you and your business cannot stand still either. Even with a strategy of maintaining sales and profits at
current levels, with the same number of staff, at the same levels of efficiency, customers will naturally disappear. So you have to replace them.
You must grow your company to stand still! What might growth mean to your company? Will you:
- Grow company sales?
- Grow company profits?
- Grow company staff?
- Grow company premises?
- Grow company products?
- Grow company markets?
There are only three ways to grow company sales: Get more people to spend more, more often! Gross profit growth can only add two more:
Increase prices and reduce costs!
For net profit growth you may think we should add reducing overheads BUT there is a danger of throwing the baby out with the bathwater, cutting
off your nose to spite your face, and spoiling the ship for a ha'p'orth of tar if you do! It is better to ensure that you are spending what you are
spending wisely and effectively.
After all, if you grow your product range and your markets, it's likely it will have cost you to do so, and that you'll need more staff in order to cope.
